Tower Bridge Exhibition Shop

The project comprised the complete refurbishment of the Exhibition Shop located within the structure of the bridge.

Restricted vehicular and pedestrian access, the need to maintain full access for visitors to the exhibition and the presence of asbestos all combined to make this relatively small project a test of planning and co-ordination.

As the stripping out of the fittings progressed additional problems were encountered on an almost daily basis. These included additional asbestos removal and repairs to the waterproof tanking to the structure.

However, by the close co-operation of all parties, in particular our Site Manager and the Contract Administrator, these problems were resolved with the minimum of fuss.
